I didn't like the curved metal butt so put a recoil pad on it. Advantages of the GPH is the longer sight radius for longer distances and if you put on the #57 peep sight the sight radius really gets ideal for longer distances. Renegade is an excellent gun but I've had no issues at all with the GPH even climbing up thru the tree to sit on a branch. Went the other way around with the renegade first in 1981 and then the Lyman GPH in 2004.
